Cavalier Daily

Cavalier Daily

I was honored to be selected as the finance columnist for The Cavalier Daily at University of Virginia for the 2011-2012 school year. The Cavalier Daily is a student-run, independent newspaper dating back to 1890, making it the oldest collegiate newspaper in Virginia. The newspaper distributes more than 10,000 copies on grounds and throughout the Charlottesville community.

The paper has many notable alumni including Alfred Berkeley, III, who was the former president of the NASDAQ stock exchange, and Katie Couric of NBC’s “Today Show” and a managing editor of the CBS Evening News. Pulitzer Prize winner, Michael Vitez, who was an Editor-in-Chief and journalist with The Philadelphia Inquirer, can also trace his roots back to The Cavalier Daily.

As the finance columnist, I was tasked with publishing bi-monthly investment articles to help students manage their financial ventures.  I was also given the latitude to write about American economics, technology, and entrepreneurship.  Some of my published works can be found underneath the articles tab.
